
About Josh!
Josh Lill is a professional sports broadcaster based in the greater Southeast Florida area. Fresh out of college, Lill relocated to Fort Lauderdale, FL., to take on his first assignment: remote coverage of MLS NEXT Pro, the Prinx Tires USL Cup and USL League One, all of which are third-tier professional soccer competitions. At the conclusion of his first season, Lill earned the opportunity to call a 2024 USL League One Quarterfinal and Semifinal. In March 2026, he made his U.S. Open Cup debut, broadcasting a first-round match between Chattanooga FC and Kalonji Pro-Profile.
Since the fall of 2025, Lill has served as a lead talent for various sports at Barry University, an NCAA Division II school located in Miami Shores, FL. Broadcasting for baseball, basketball, soccer, softball and volleyball, he has the wonderful opportunity to engage with the athletic staff, students and fans at the university. While acting as one of the voices of the Buccaneers, Lill announces for the Amerigol Latam Cup, an annual international hockey tournament, and the 305 Plus Network, an organization dedicated to streaming high school football in Miami-Dade County.
Lill is a Chicago native and alumnus of Notre Dame College Prep in Niles, IL. He is also a recent graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he received his Bachelor of Journalism in May 2024. Specialties include a double major in broadcasting and sports media communications, with a minor in music technology.
At UNL, Lill provided play-by-play commentary for various school sports on 90.3 KRNU (Nebraska's student radio station) and Big Ten Plus. On the side, he took on the role of public address announcer for both of Nebraska’s tennis programs. Throughout his senior year at UNL, he was a sideline reporter for News Channel Nebraska, appearing on television during high school football and basketball games.
Lill was also involved in television and radio production. He was a parabolic operator, runner and scorebug operator for several Big Ten-sanctioned sports. He had the pleasure of contributing behind the scenes for Big Ten Network, ESPN, FOX Sports and Nebraska Public Media. Radio production experience was created working on 93.7 The Ticket's "Early Break with Jake Sorensen, Steve Sipple and Bill Busch." On-air appearances were made during "The Drive with Raff, AD and Ahman Green."
As of October 2024, Lill is a middle school and high school basketball official for the Florida High School Athletic Association. He grew up in a musical household and is a proud musician. He performed with his former bands as a drummer and bassist in Chicago and Lincoln. As a kid, he participated in Boy Scouts of America and would eventually earn the highest rank in scouting: Eagle Scout.
